“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking” Marcus Aurelius (121 – 180 AD)
Happiness is actually inside out. And one way to do so is to align your head and your heart.
Because once these two elements exist in sync, then only you will be the happiest.
I leave it at that point for now 😉
P/S- This short post is inspired by my comment on Everyday Minimalist.
Haha…
I didn’t know HD TV can make people happy…
“Happiness is actually inside out. And one way to do so is to align your head and your heart.”
This reminds me of Kentut giving Elizabeth a hand-drawn picture showing a man with eyes in his chest, saying something like “see the world with your heart.” in Eat, Pray, Love.
However IMHO the ultimate happiness happens when you let go of the need for pursuing/seeking happiness.
Very true Kakyn. The moment we start consciously chasing after happiness, that is the very moment we are losing it.
This reminds me of another saying:
” Do we own our things or do our things own us?”
(can’t remember where this was from though)
I know that Tyler Durden does say something along the line of “The things that we own end up owning us” Izad…
Thank you for the link back:)
I admire Marcus Aurelius a lot, and that quote is simple but it made me reflect back on my own minimalist life and spending.
You’re welcome
